Lithium batteries are maintenance-free
Once the batteries are installed and in operation in solar installations, they require no maintenance. Let’s see how to extend its lifespan.
Maintenance-free for Lithium batteries
These models have the capacity to offer all their features without requiring any type of maintenance throughout their useful life.
Examples of Lithium batteries that Cuenca Solar has are the 48V 2400Wh Pylontech US2000C Lithium Module and 48V 3600Wh Pylontech US3000C Lithium Module models. These models have the latest and most efficient technology on the market, ideal for residential and industrial use.
Minimal maintenance required for Lithium batteries
We know that Lithium batteries work properly in different environments and that they are the preferred batteries when it comes to solar panel installations.
For their proper functioning, we must avoid exposing batteries to extreme metrological conditions, whether they are very high or very low temperatures. The main cause of maintenance of lithium batteries is due to the degradation that the battery undergoes due to its own use.

These batteries are known as lithium-iron phosphate (LFP). They stand out for their safety, durability and proper use for homes.
This type of lithium battery does not require ventilation or cooling systems, making it perfect for solar home installations.
Within these batteries we find the BMS system, which is responsible for automatically recording the battery charge levels, the temperature of the batteries, the life cycles, etc. The function of the BMS is to extend the life of the battery.
Necessary maintenance during periods of inactivity
We have already seen that the maintenance required by these batteries is minimal, but rather care that we must take in order to extend their useful life rather than carry out in-depth inspections of the battery.
The steps to follow to keep the batteries in good condition are:
- Fully charge the battery.
- Disconnect the battery connector.
- Disconnect the battery system (turn off the BMS).
- Every 2 or 3 months, carry out a full charge of soda.
In this way, we can ensure that Lithium batteries maintain their capacity and performance to a greater extent.
